The Basic Meeting List Toolbox

Sample BMLT Searches

The searches in these pages are variations of the various choices for CMS shortcodes. They show how a CMS (Content Management System) can implement the BMLT.

The pages listed under this one show demonstrations on this server. Many of the demonstrations connect to “live” BMLT root servers currently being deployed, so the data shown in the demos is quite relevant.

Examples on This Site

The following pages show examples of the various shortcodes in action, as well as the source code used to implement them:

Examples on Other Sites

The Tabbed WordPress Plugin

This link takes you to the Orlando NA Meeting search page.

This link takes you to the Serenity Coast Area.

The [[bmlt]] Shortcode

This is the “[[bmlt]]” shortcode. It will display the original BMLT meeting search in whatever form is selected by the BMLT settings.

This link takes you to the Greater New York Regional Search page, which is implemented using the classic shortcode. The main search is set to use the text option, but localized searches use the map option.

The [[bmlt_map]] Shortcode

This is a “simpler” map search that was designed for a fast, basic page load.

This link takes you to the GNYR Mobile Page. However, if you hit it with a desktop browser (instead of a smartphone), you will see the basic [[bmlt_map]] display.

This link takes you to the First Coast Area, which uses the simple map shortcode.

The [[bmlt_simple]] Shortcode

This link takes you to the C&P Region Meeting List Page, which implements the shortcode in a “tabbed” fashion.

This link will take you to the format key for the Greater new York Region. This page is generated via the [[bmlt_simple]] shortcode.

The [[bmlt_mobile]] Shortcode

This link will take you to the C&P Region mobile page. It will only display mobile if you hit the page with a phone browser. The [[bmlt_mobile]] shortcode will serve to “dumb” phones, as well as “smart” phones.

This link will take you to the GNYR Mobile page. Note that it shows a [[bmlt_map]] page if you go there with a regular desktop browser. However, it will show you the mobile site if you hit it with a phone.

The [[simple_search_list]] Shortcode.

This shortcode is only available in the WordPress variant of the plugin. It relies on the ability to assign extra metadata to pages (the WordPress Custom Fields Ability). However, it is a very useful shortcode.

This link will take you to the GNYR Simple Searches page, where you can see this shortcode in action.

Hybrid Searches

This link will take you to the GNYR Mobile page. Note that it shows a [[bmlt_map]] page if you go there with a regular desktop browser. However, it will show you the mobile site if you hit it with a phone.
